Fast and furious describes the sport of Dragon Boat Racing.
Corporate and social teams, serious competitors and those out for a days fun joined the Brisbane River Dragons for some racing as part of this years Chinese New Year celebrations.
Crews of eighteen paddlers along with a drummer and a sweep filled each boat. Racing four boats at a time the spectators along the river at South Bank had a clear view of the spectacle and witnessed the effort and timing needed to propel these craft smoothly through the water.

Excellent photos of an event we would hardly see here in Sweden. There are celebrations, but it’s far too cold for boating…
